Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled Wood Construction Specialist to join our team at Winmar. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in carpentry and experience working with various types of materials, including wood, steel, and other composites.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and sketches to determine work requirements
  • Prepare layouts in conformance to building codes using measuring tools
  • Measure, cut, shape, assemble, and join materials made of wood, substitutes, lightweight steel, and other materials
  • Build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring, and erect walls and roof systems
  • Fit and install windows, doors, stairs, moldings, and hardware
  • Maintain, repair, and renovate residences and wooden structures in mills, mines, hospitals, industrial plants, and other establishments
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; post-secondary education in a related field an asset
  • 1-7 months of experience in the trade; apprenticeship or certification an asset
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and sketches
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Physical ability to lift heavy loads, work at heights, and perform repetitive tasks
Work Environment:

This is a permanent position that requires working 35-40 hours per week. Travel may be required for relocation to various job sites. Benefits include competitive salary, paid training, and opportunities for advancement.
