Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and organized Activities Coordinator to join our team at McLean Hospital. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing a variety of education, skills, and recreational activities to patients on our inpatient units.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead inpatient hospital education, skills, and recreational activities, interacting with individuals in a professional manner and within group protocol guidelines.
  • Provide scheduled coverage for unit staff as needed.
  • Deliver education, skills, and recreational activities in groups and individual activity modules/plans, representing current interests and needs of patients.
  • Provide feedback to the Group Therapy Coordinator on patient response to or progress with activities.
  • Maintain a safe and failure-free environment for clients, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Interact with clients, treatment teams, and unit staff in a positive and effective manner.
  • Communicate information regarding client interactive behaviors to clinical staff in a timely and effective manner.
  • Complete clinical documentation and document information regarding clients who attended groups in a timely manner.
  • Participate in clinical/professional meetings, in-service didactics, and trainings as appropriate.
  • Report to a supervisor and use supervision effectively to enhance overall clinical awareness, growth, and professional development.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in social services, human services, or a related field.
  • Experience working with clinical populations preferred but not required.
  • Ability to set and maintain appropriate boundaries.
  • Basic computer skills to use electronic or online systems for communication, clinical, and administrative purposes.
