Produce Sales Associate

Job Summary
The Produce Clerk is a key member of the Safeway team, responsible for delivering exceptional customer service and ensuring a positive shopping experience for our customers. As a Produce Clerk, you will be responsible for maintaining a clean and organized produce department, processing customer orders, and promoting products to increase store sales.
Key Responsibilities
- Adhere to all food safety protocols and standard operating procedures to ensure a safe and healthy shopping environment.
- Provide excellent customer service, responding to customer inquiries and resolving any issues in a professional and courteous manner.
- Maintain a clean and organized produce department, including restocking shelves and rotating stock to ensure freshness and quality.
- Process customer orders, including handling and preparing deli products, and increasing store sales by actively promoting products.
- Participate in the training of junior staff, sharing knowledge and expertise to ensure a smooth and efficient operation.
- Order and receive stock in accordance with company inventory control procedures, ensuring accurate and timely delivery of products.
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment, adhering to company requirements and regulations.
Requirements
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment, with a strong attention to detail and ability to multitask.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with customers and colleagues.
- Ability to lift and move products, with a strong physical stamina and endurance.
