Job Description

LanceSoft is seeking a highly skilled Business Systems Analyst to join our team. As a Business Systems Analyst, you will play a critical role in leading discovery, user research, outreach, and analysis to ensure a clear understanding of user needs and legal rights in advance of the upcoming negotiation for the Ontario Parcel Master Agreement (OPMA) contract renewal.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and provide a comprehensive range of I&IT business analysis services for clients with diverse business and technological needs.
  • Interact with business stakeholders and subject matter experts to understand their requirements through gathering, documenting, and analyzing business needs and requirements.
  • Collaborate with project managers to develop project plans, timelines, and resource allocations, ensuring timely delivery of project milestones.
  • Lead requirements gathering sessions, validate findings, and build consensus among stakeholders.
Requirements:
  • Strong business analysis skills, with experience leading technical needs assessment for multi-stakeholder, geospatial solution discovery projects.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills; verbal and written communication skills; interpersonal and negotiation skills.
  • A team player with a track record for meeting deadlines.
  • Experience developing strategies, preparing business cases, and cost-benefit analysis.
  • Experience conducting requirements gathering, developing documentation, including presentations and briefing notes, and conducting stakeholder engagement.
Desirable Skills:
  • Experience leading user engagement and discovery on projects involving multiple stakeholders and disciplines.
  • Experience leading discovery on projects involving geospatial data and sensitive or confidential data.
  • Experience with research to conduct a jurisdictional scan of data licensing practices as applied to parcel data and develop a report of findings.
  • Knowledge and understanding of Information Management principles, concepts, policies, and practices.
  • Ability to translate business and data requirements into specifications sufficient for designing appropriate geospatial data products and technology solutions.
