Job Summary


We are seeking a highly skilled Healthcare Professional - Patient Care Specialist to join our team at the Health Sciences Centre in Winnipeg. As a key member of our physiotherapy department, you will be responsible for performing direct and indirect patient care activities, ensuring exceptional care and support for our patients.



Responsibilities



  • Deliver direct patient care activities under the supervision of our experienced therapists, utilizing your excellent interpersonal and communication skills to build strong relationships with patients and their families.
  • Perform various non-patient care duties as delegated by your team leader, requiring adaptability and flexibility in a fast-paced environment.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement effective care plans that meet the unique needs of each patient.


Requirements



  • Previous experience in a healthcare setting, preferably in a rehabilitation assistant role, is highly desirable.
  • A recognized academic rehabilitation assistant program completion, such as the Manitoba Institute of Trades and Technology Rehabilitation Assistant Program, is mandatory.
  • Basic computer skills and proficiency in oral and written English communication are essential.
  • CPR training requirements will be met in accordance with Shared Health's policy.
  • Possess excellent physical stamina to perform tasks that require standing, walking, or sitting for extended periods.
