The Radiological Technologist plays a vital role in the Fraser Health team, working in accordance with professional practice standards and utilizing a client-centered care model.
Key Responsibilities- Perform diagnostic radiographic and medical imaging procedures, adhering to safe radiation protection practices.
- Operate radiographic and computerized imaging equipment, processing radiographs and archiving acquired data.
- Monitor patient care and safety, ensuring procedures adhere to department standards and policies.
- Participate in quality improvement and risk management procedures, and provide input into departmental Continuous Quality Improvement/LEAN programs.
- Carry out responsibilities in accordance with health and safety requirements, reporting unsafe situations to supervisors or other personnel.
- Certification with the Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (CAMRT).
- Demonstrated knowledge and practice of safe work procedures with diagnostic radiographic and medical imaging equipment.
- Ability to perform radiographic examinations in compliance with departmental standards.
- Knowledge of evidence-based practice related to designated modality, organization policies, procedures, and standards of care.
- Ability to communicate effectively with clients, families, co-workers, physicians, and other health care staff.
