Job Overview

The Churchill Health Centre is seeking a Childcare Assistant to join our team. As a Childcare Assistant, you will be responsible for the care and learning of children at our Children's Centre. You will work under the direction of the Children's Centre Coordinator and take initiative in keeping the children busy with the equipment and supplies provided.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in a child care setting is an asset and completion of the 40-hour course requirements for working in a Children Centre is required.
  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • CPR and First Aid certificates are mandatory.

  • Ability to relate effectively to children, parents, and community.
  • Calm and confident manner during difficult situations.
  • Ability to plan activities for children and show initiative.
  • Maintain confidentiality with all information entrusted to the position.
  • Represent the Churchill Health Centre in a professional and positive manner.

Physical Demands

  • Possible lifting at times.
  • Possible eye strain.
  • Possible posture and muscle problems.
  • Other demands as it pertains to the position.
  • Possible contact with children with aggressive behavior.
