About the Role

As an Architectural Technologist, your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Coordinating and preparing complete working drawing packages and construction documents for pricing and building permit submission.
  • Interpreting and implementing Zoning By-laws and other applicable regulations.
  • Validating designs and deliverables to ensure they meet company and client standards, BC Code requirements, and other applicable regulations.
  • Providing input to proposals and designs, using problem-solving skills to overcome technical challenges.
  • Producing rendered visualization material, including plans and elevations, when required.
  • Working collaboratively with team members, clients, and consultants.
  • Attending project team meetings.
  • Visiting job sites to gather essential data for the design and implementation of projects when required.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • An Architectural Technology Diploma/Certification.
  • 4.5+ years' experience as an Architectural Technologist in an Architecture or design firm, with at least 3 years of experience coming from within Canada or North America.
  • Strong experience working with Revit is essential. Experience with AutoCAD, MS Office, and Adobe Suite is an asset.
  • Experience working with commercial, industrial, public, and mixed-use projects is preferable.
  • High attention to detail, accurate, and precise work.
  • Contract administration experience is an asset.
  • Team worker, as well as independently sufficient.
  • Knowledge of Alberta local by-laws and building codes.
  • Good knowledge of construction principles.
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively work with clients and project teams.
