Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Occupational Health and Safety Specialist to join our team. This full-time position involves developing and implementing occupational hygiene and health and safety initiatives to ensure the well-being of our staff, volunteers, and physicians. You will work closely with our Joint Occupational Health and Safety Committee and other stakeholders to identify and mitigate potential risks.

This role requires excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to communicate effectively with various groups. If you are a motivated individual with a passion for promoting workplace safety, we encourage you to apply.

Key Responsibilities

- Develop and implement occupational hygiene and health and safety initiatives that meet regulatory requirements
- Collaborate with managers and staff to investigate workplace incidents and injuries
- Participate in OHS meetings and provide expert advice on risk assessment and mitigation strategies
- Conduct exposure monitoring and prepare technical reports to inform decision-making
- Work with external contacts, including regulatory agencies and industry experts, to stay up-to-date on best practices and regulations

Requirements

- Master's degree in Occupational Hygiene or equivalent experience
- Registration as a Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) or Registered Occupational Hygienist (ROH)
- Experience working in a healthcare environment, preferably with maintenance and technical equipment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
