About the Role

Fed Manutech is seeking a highly skilled R&D Innovation Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for leading packaging R&D projects from initial phase through to commercialization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead cross-functional teams to drive product development through all stages, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery of innovative packaging solutions.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to identify and prioritize R&D projects, aligning with business objectives and market trends.
  • Develop and implement laboratory analysis for quality control and performance of new products from R&D, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Contribute to the startup of new packaging manufacturing equipment, working closely with management to ensure seamless integration and optimal performance.
  • Participate in process improvement initiatives, analyzing and resolving production efficiency issues, and implementing solutions to optimize raw materials usage and reduce waste.
  • Support testing and validation of customer installations, ensuring successful deployment and customer satisfaction.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar position in a manufacturing environment, with a strong background in packaging development and R&D.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in engineering, chemistry, materials science, or a related field.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
  • Bilingual French and English language proficiency, with the ability to communicate complex technical information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • ING or CPI designation, with knowledge of materials (plastics, aluminum, adhesives, paper) and flexible packaging processes.
  • Strong project management and problem-solving skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

What We Offer

  • A competitive salary range of $80,000 to $120,000, commensurate with experience.
  • A 40-hour workweek, with full insurance and company RRSP benefits.
