Carpenter Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Finish Carpenter to join our team at Skona Design Inc.

The successful candidate will be responsible for measuring, cutting, shaping, assembling, and joining materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel, and other materials. They will also fit and install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings, and hardware, schedule and coordinate work on sites, instruct apprentices, supervise other workers, estimate costs and materials, and maintain, repair, and renovate residences and wooden structures in mills, mines, hospitals, industrial plants, and other establishments.

• Measure, cut, shape, assemble, and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel, and other materials.
• Fitting and installing windows, doors, stairs, mouldings, and hardware.
• Scheduling and coordinating work on sites.
• Instructing apprentices.
• Supervising other workers.
• Estimating costs and materials.
• Maintaining, repairing, and renovating residences and wooden structures in mills, mines, hospitals, industrial plants, and other establishments.

• 5 years or more of experience in the trade.
• Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
• Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces.
• Ability to lift heavy materials and equipment.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines.

The successful candidate will be required to work in a variety of environments, including construction sites, mills, mines, hospitals, industrial plants, and other establishments. They will be exposed to noise, dust, and other hazards associated with the trade.
