Salary

The annual salary for this position is estimated to be around $83,000 - $113,000 CAD, based on the standard rate of pay for a Licensed Practical Nurse in Alberta.

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Licensed Practical Nurse to provide support for clinical research trials in our Clinical Trials Unit. As a key member of our interprofessional healthcare team, you will utilize nursing processes, critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills to deliver safe, quality patient-centered care. Your primary responsibilities will include identifying and recruiting participants in clinical research studies, obtaining informed consent, performing study visits as per protocol, dispensing study medication, collecting/entering data in clinical trial databases, and completing/filing of study documents in the Investigator Trial File.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Completion of an accredited practical nurse education program
  • Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA)
  • Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP) certification
  • Minimum 1-2 years of experience working in a clinical research environment
  • Current/previous experience working in acute care or ICU setting
  • Highly motivated, self-directed, enthusiastic with proven problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to take initiative and work in a team environment as well as independently with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Effective communication skills
  • Precise documentation skills
  • Knowledge of MS Word & Excel, Gmail, data entry programs
