Responsibilities:- Provide nursing care in accordance with established policies, physician's orders, and the resident's plan of care.
- Utilize sound nursing practice principles to deliver excellent nursing and personal care in the assigned home area(s).
- Ensure timely and accessible admissions, comprehensive orientations, and safe resident transfers and discharges.
- Manage the supply, control, and safekeeping of drugs and narcotics, adhering to protocols on all assigned shifts.
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care to meet the physical, psychological, emotional, spiritual, cultural, and social needs of residents.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN), Bachelor of Nursing (BN), or equivalent.
- Current registration as a Registered Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives.
- Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification.
- Basic computer proficiency.
- Valid First Aid and CPR Certificate.
- Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
- Effective, compassionate, and supportive interaction with others.
- Respect for each resident's individuality, self-respect, and privacy, with awareness of their need to share in decisions about their care.
- Knowledge of relevant Federal, Provincial, and Municipal statutes influencing the operation of the Nursing Home and nursing department.
- Medical Clearance, including TB tests, Vulnerable Sector Police Check, Adult Abuse Registry Check, and Clear Criminal Record check.
- Proof of vaccination, adherence to COVID-19 prevention protocols, and wearing a mask at all times.
