Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Mental Health Clinician to join our team at Fraser Health. As a key member of our interdisciplinary team, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care and support to individuals and families affected by mental illness and substance use disorders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide individual, group, and family therapy sessions to clients with complex needs
  • Develop and implement recovery-oriented treatment plans in collaboration with clients and their natural supports
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments and provide case consultation and follow-up support to clients and their families
  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to determine best approaches to care and assess the need for emergent crisis intervention
  • Facilitate client utilization of community services and rehabilitative programs through research, liaison, and referral
  • Advocate on behalf of clients and provide education to staff, clients, and their families regarding mental health and substance use issues
  • Participate in quality improvement and risk management activities, including clinical education and ongoing education to maintain current and relevant practice
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Clinical Counselling, or other relevant health-related discipline
  • Two years' recent, related experience working with clients and families with mental illness and substance use disorders
  • Eligible for registration or membership with applicable professional association or regulatory body
  • Valid Class V BC Driver's License and access to personal vehicle for business-related purposes
Skills and Abilities
  • Demonstrated client assessment and case management skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, including empathic and respectful communication
  • Good interpersonal skills, including the ability to get along well with clients, families, and members of the interdisciplinary team
  • Ability to set priorities, organize work, and exercise sound judgment, both clinically and non-clinically
  • Ability to work effectively and flexibly manage changing caseload needs under pressure
