This role operates with a high degree of autonomy, taking charge of the comprehensive process related to vendor and material setup, cost management, promotional oversight, forecasting, and inventory replenishment. Key responsibilities encompass the establishment and upkeep of vendor and product master data, adjustments to costs and pricing, ensuring data integrity, resolving issues, and managing forecasting and replenishment for various inventory types. The Supply Chain Data Analyst plays a crucial role in making purchasing decisions exceeding $2 million weekly.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Data Management: Establish and maintain accurate data concerning vendors, new and existing products, cost adjustments, and promotional activities using designated tools and protocols.
  • Data Verification: Scrutinize data entry requests for accuracy and reasonableness, identifying potential conflicts with existing system data. Investigate discrepancies to determine root causes prior to completing data entry tasks.
  • Invoice and Pricing Discrepancies: Address invoice discrepancies by gathering necessary documentation and authorization for payment based on agreed pricing.
  • Issue Resolution: Collaborate with category managers and suppliers to resolve non-scanning issues and pricing discrepancies reported by stores, ensuring timely completion of data entry requests.
  • Forecasting and Inventory Management: Maintain optimal inventory levels by managing product order cycles, vendor minimums, lead times, and logistics schedules, executing purchase orders as necessary. Adjust system forecasts to account for anomalies and initiate inventory transfers as required.
  • Promotional Orders: Place orders for promotions based on historical sales data, professional insights, and current market trends.
  • Vendor Coordination: Follow up with vendors to confirm scheduled deliveries and manage product returns as needed.
  • Supplier Performance Monitoring: Investigate vendor service level and pricing issues, communicating findings with relevant stakeholders.
  • Cost Management: Optimize the use of deals and forward buys to maximize benefits.
  • Reporting: Maintain a comprehensive log of recurring issues for visibility among stakeholders and management, reporting on key performance indicators.
  • Customer Service: Respond promptly to requests from stores, support center departments, and management, while assisting the Supply Chain team with additional projects as assigned.
  • Health and Safety Compliance: Advocate for a safety-first culture, adhering to safety guidelines and addressing any risks to team members and customers.

Qualifications:

  • Post-secondary education in Business Administration or a related field.
  • In-depth understanding of grocery retail dynamics, including seasonality and consumer behavior.
  • Experience in problem analysis and resolution.
  • A minimum of 5 years in a retail environment, with at least 3 years focused on forecasting and replenishment.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems, with strong skills in Excel and Word; familiarity with Access is advantageous.
  • Exceptional customer service orientation and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines while managing multiple projects and priorities.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with meticulous attention to detail.
