Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Staff Scientist to join the Acceleration Consortium at the University of Toronto. The successful candidate will work closely with our interdisciplinary team of scientists and engineers to advance the field of AI-driven autonomous discovery and develop the materials and molecules required to address society's largest challenges.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement machine learning algorithms for materials discovery and characterization
  • Collaborate with industry partners to develop and execute research projects
  • Manage and oversee the activities of a lab
  • Develop and maintain customized hardware and software packages for SDLs
  • Work with the AC community to determine the required capabilities of the SDLs
Requirements
  • Ph.D. in chemistry, materials science, life sciences, physics, engineering, computer science, or related discipline
  • 5-10 years of experience in accelerated research and development in the area of machine learning applications in computational chemistry and/or biology
  • Experience working closely with a Principal Investigator or as a Principal Investigator or as Project Director
  • Strong experience presenting research at academic conferences
  • Demonstrated record of academic and/or research excellence
