We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Financial Analyst to join our team at D & V Electronics. As a key member of our finance department, you will be responsible for providing accurate and timely financial analysis, reporting, and audit control.
Key Responsibilities- Financial Analysis and Reporting: Prepare and enter routine journal entries, maintain proper documentation, and prepare contract invoices and backup documentation.
- General Ledger and Financial Reporting: Assist in reviewing and analyzing General Ledger, making necessary corrections, and reconciling and balancing key financial accounts.
- Project Cost Management: Monitor project costs, including overhead, freight, and labor, and prepare variance reports with recommendations.
- Internal Audit and Compliance: Coordinate with internal and external auditors to ensure compliance and deadlines are met, and advise and report to the Controller on audit status.
- Financial Planning and Analysis: Assist in forecasting the 13-week cash flow, identify variances to actual results, and analyze cost drivers.
- Inventory Management: Assist with the coordination of annual physical inventory counts and cycle counts, investigate cycle counting variances, and resolve issues with operations.
- Education: B. Comm. or BA degree in Accounting, CPA is an asset.
- Experience: Minimum of 7+ years accounting/finance experience in automotive manufacturing or a similar industry, project cost management is an asset.
- Skills: In-depth understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), familiarity with financial accounting statements, general ledger functions, and month-end/quarter-end/year-end close process.
- Software: Hands-on experience with accounting software packages, e.g., MS Dynamics, MRP/ERP systems, and inventory management systems.
- Personal Qualities: Team player, able to work with staff at all levels, accuracy and attention to detail, keen interest in learning, excellent analysis and problem-solving skills, strong interpersonal and communication skills.
