About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Dental Assistant to join our team at Baywood Dental. As a key member of our dental team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our dental practice.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare patients for dental examinations and ensure they are comfortable and relaxed throughout the process.
  • Prepare dental instruments and filling materials to the highest standards, maintaining a clean and organized workspace.
  • Educate patients on oral hygiene and provide personalized advice to promote good oral health.
  • Polish teeth and clinical crowns and apply fluoride and sealant to prevent decay and strengthen teeth.
  • Prepare wax bite-blocks and impression trays for accurate dental impressions.
  • Take and develop X-rays to aid in dental diagnosis and treatment planning.
  • Record dental procedures performed on patients, maintaining accurate and up-to-date records.
  • Polish and buff dentures to ensure a comfortable and natural fit.
  • Take preliminary impressions for diagnostic casts, providing valuable information for dental treatment.
Requirements
  • Registration with provincial or territorial authorities is required for this role.
  • Technical expertise in dental procedures is essential, including packing, polishing, and other related tasks.
  • Computer and technology knowledge is necessary, with proficiency in MS Excel, MS Outlook, and MS Word.
  • Work conditions and physical capabilities require the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with repetitive tasks and attention to detail.
  • Personal suitability includes excellent client focus, efficient interpersonal skills, and a team player attitude.
