Job Overview
Altis Technology is seeking a highly skilled Geospatial Data Analyst to support our public sector client in analyzing and reporting on program and project information. This 12-month contract position offers an excellent opportunity for a GIS professional to apply their skills in a dynamic environment.

### Project Context###
The successful candidate will work primarily from Edmonton, Alberta, supporting the current Strategy and related programs by leveraging advanced GIS expertise. The role involves analyzing disparate geospatial datasets, performing spatial analysis, and creating data visualizations to inform business decisions.

#### Key Responsibilities####
* Design and implement data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) solutions following geospatial data standards.
* Integrate and analyze various geospatial datasets and features.
* Extract, process, and interpret geographic data using GIS tools and scripting languages.
* Develop GIS data integration and conversion workflows.
* Perform advanced spatial analysis and geostatistical modeling.
* Automate GIS workflows to improve productivity and efficiency.
* Create maps, raster analysis models, and interactive web applications for data dissemination.
* Produce data visualizations to support business decisions and reporting.

### Required Skills and Qualifications###

- Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field of study.
- Direct experience with ArcGIS Desktop, ArcGIS Pro, and FME software.
- Strong proficiency in designing and producing thematic maps that highlight specific data points.
- Experience in developing exploratory analysis by transforming raw data.
- Expertise in creating and managing geospatial datasets and performing geostatistical analysis.
- Strong analytical skills with experience using statistical techniques to analyze geographic data.

#### Nice-to-Have Skills and Experience####

- Direct experience in business requirement analysis, solution design, and implementation.
- Experience in automating redundant GIS processes, implementing workflows, and solutions.
- Knowledge of version control systems like Git, GitHub for managing code and projects.
- Familiarity with RESTful APIs and integrating them into GIS applications.
