Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Engineer - Full Stack Expert to join our team. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and deploying enterprise-quality features that support our mission.

About the Role

As a Senior Software Engineer - Full Stack Expert at Fable, you will work closely with product, design, and other engineers to develop and maintain accessible front-end features, backend functionality, and full-stack solutions. You will be involved in all aspects of the software development life cycle, from ideation to deployment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Contributing to the full product development lifecycle from ideation to deployment
  • Full stack development across our technology ecosystem - Node.js, MongoDB, Express, React, AWS, and more.
  • Developing and maintaining accessible front-end features
  • Developing and maintaining backend functionality
  • Owning, planning, and working with others on the team to implement project-sized pieces of functionality
  • Proactively recommending and championing improvements to processes and product
  • Mentoring and upskilling others on the team

Requirements and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • At least 6 years of full-stack engineering experience, developing web applications (full stack development - front-end, back-end, databases, and APIs)
  • Previous experience working as a senior full-stack engineer
  • Experience with the MERN stack, feature flags, and error management
  • Experience using AWS cloud services and building applications to run in the Cloud
  • Knowledgeable in the craft of software development, including concepts like automated testing, continuous integration, and design patterns
  • Experience with web accessibility at some level
  • A self-starter who thrives with minimal oversight, eager to join a startup dedicated to making a positive social impact
  • Experience working in a remote agile environment
