About the Role:

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled HVAC Mechanic Apprentice to join our team at Johnson Controls. As an HVAC Mechanic Apprentice, you will have the opportunity to learn from our experienced technicians and gain hands-on experience in the installation, maintenance, and repair of commercial and light industrial HVAC systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine, periodic service, and inspections on Mechanical HVAC equipment at customer sites.
  • Change and service filters, oil and grease bearings, and perform belt adjustment and replacement services.
  • Perform cooling tower and condenser maintenance, including coil, evaporator, and tube cleaning.
  • Operate mechanical equipment and perform general housekeeping tasks as required by customer contract.
  • Transport rigging equipment to and from sites as needed.
  • Assist other HVAC Journeymen and Apprentices as needed.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • First or second-year apprentice.
  • Familiarity with HVAC equipment and hand tools.
  • Refrigeration certification.
  • Industrial site experience preferred.
  • Self-starter with ability to work independently.
  • Current clean driver's license/abstract.
  • Ability to join UA-516 or be a member in good standing.

Pay and Benefits:

The current pay rates for apprentices at the level we are hiring for range from $20.40 to $25.50. This position is subject to the terms of a Collective Agreement.
