Job Title: Learning Assistance Centre Teacher

Job Summary:

The Fort McMurray Public School Division is seeking a qualified Learning Assistance Centre Teacher to join our team. As a Learning Assistance Centre Teacher, you will be responsible for providing support to students with special needs in an inclusive environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administer individual assessments to identify student needs and develop personalized learning plans
  • Coordinate programming for students with special needs, including developing and implementing instructional plans
  • Support students to increase independence, enhance self-esteem, and improve social and interpersonal skills
  • Design and implement instruction for students with special needs, including developing and implementing behavioral support plans
  • Collaborate with teachers, support staff, and parents to ensure student success
  • Process and manage confidential records, including student files and progress reports
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with students, parents, and community members

Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Education degree
  • Experience in special education, including administration of individual assessments and development of instructional plans
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information

Working Conditions:

The successful candidate will be required to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with a diverse group of students, staff, and community members.
