About the Role
  • This position is a temporary assignment.
  • The working language is English or French.
  • The working hours are 35 hours per week.
  • We are looking for a candidate with a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • 2+ years of experience in a similar field is required.
Key Responsibilities
  1. Conduct interviews with clients to gather employment history, educational background, and career goals.
  2. Prepare case histories and assess problems.
  3. Identify barriers to employment and assist clients with job readiness skills, job search strategies, writing résumés, and preparing for job interviews.
  4. Perform administrative tasks.
  5. Advise employers on human resource and other employment-related issues.
  6. Counsel clients, provide therapy, and mediation services, and facilitate group sessions.
  7. Administer and interpret tests to determine the interests, aptitudes, and abilities of clients.
  8. Collect labour market information for clients regarding job openings, entry, and skill requirements.
  9. Provide established workers with information and strategies for dealing with job dissatisfaction, making mid-career changes, and adjusting to workplace transitions.
  10. Follow up on the results of counselling programs and clients' adjustment.
  11. Provide established workers with information and strategies for maintaining a job or moving within an organization.
  12. Provide consulting services to community groups and agencies, businesses, industry, and other organizations involved in providing community-based career planning support or resources.
  13. Prepare assessment, progress, follow-up, and court reports.
  14. Liaise with community agencies or partners and identify additional or alternative services and provide referrals.
  15. Screen job applicants.
  16. Advertise vacancies.
Requirements
  • MS Excel, MS Outlook, MS PowerPoint, MS Windows, and MS Word skills are required.
  • Bondable, Enhanced reliability security clearance, Criminal record check, Adult Abuse Registry check, and Vulnerable sector check are required.
  • Own vehicle and valid driver's licence are required.
  • Fast-paced environment, work under pressure, tight deadlines, large caseload, attention to detail, client focus, dependability, efficient interpersonal skills, excellent written communication, interpersonal awareness, judgement, reliability, team player, excellent oral communication, values, and ethics are required.
