Dietary Service Assistant

Job Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated Dietary Aide to join our team at Simcoe County.
About the Role

Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve meals to residents, ensuring that all dietary needs and preferences are met.
- Communicate with production staff regarding food preparation, waste management, and temperature control.
- Set tables and trays, maintaining high standards of presentation and cleanliness.
- Participate in cleaning and organizing dining areas, kitchens, and storage spaces.
- Perform basic food preparation tasks, such as washing, cutting, and cooking.
- Collaborate with Registered Dietitians and Nutritionists to develop personalized meal plans.
- Adhere to safe food handling practices, proper hygiene, and infection control procedures.
- Maintain accurate records of food inventory, menus, and resident feedback.
- Contribute to the development of a positive work environment by promoting teamwork and respect among colleagues.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A minimum of six months of experience in a similar or related position.
- A Food Service Worker training program certification or equivalent.
- Knowledge of therapeutic diets and nutrition principles.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Able to lift, stand, and walk for extended periods.
