About the Role
The Claims Adjuster position at George Hills is a critical role that requires a high level of expertise in investigating, evaluating, and adjusting General and Automobile Liability claims. As a Senior Subrogation Specialist, you will be responsible for negotiating liability, settlements, and payment arrangements, as well as developing resolution plans to recover payments where subrogation potential has been identified.
Key Responsibilities
- Negotiate with parties to resolve claims and reach mutually beneficial agreements
- Develop and implement resolution plans to recover payments
- Interact with field staff and investigative agencies to obtain documentation and support the recovery effort
- Document files and communicate with parties to ensure timely and effective resolution
- Assist internal and external customers with minor questions and concerns
Requirements
- Four-year college degree or commensurate experience
- At least five or more years' experience with insurance claims, self-insurance, pooled insurance, or Joint Powers Authority
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office, and claims management software
Preferred Qualifications
- At least three (3) years of using Microsoft Windows on a PC, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
- At least two (2) years of using streaming video conferencing, including Teams and Zoom, with the ability to set and host group meetings
- At least two (2) years of using claims management software and/or ability to quickly learn new software systems related to claims management
