Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Construction Superintendent to join our team at Chandos. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for overseeing the management of all field and site-specific construction activities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Site Management: Ensure site safety, compliance with regulations, and clear communication of roles and responsibilities.
  • Project Coordination: Manage project activities, budgets, and subcontractor relationships to ensure timely completion and profitability.
  • Quality Assurance: Support continuous improvement and quality management systems to maintain high standards of workmanship.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Oversee documentation, including safety logs, timesheets, and purchase orders, to ensure accurate and timely reporting.
  • Logistics and Supply Chain: Coordinate site logistics, equipment, and waste diversion efforts to minimize costs and environmental impact.
  • Client Relationships: Maintain strong relationships with clients and stakeholders to ensure project specifications are met and exceeded.
  • Staff Development: Facilitate staff training and participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance skills and knowledge.
Requirements
  • Education and Certifications: Journeyman trade certification or equivalent experience, technical diploma, and/or Gold Seal certification are considered assets.
  • Leadership and Management Experience: Three or more years of supervisory or management experience in the construction field, with a proven track record of leadership and team management.
  • Industry Knowledge: Five or more years of experience in commercial construction, with a strong understanding of industry trends, regulations, and best practices.
