Key Responsibilities:

  • Troubleshoot and perform repair work on hospital mechanical and electrical equipment and systems.
  • Perform required plumbing and electrical maintenance throughout the hospital complex.
  • Plan, maintain and record preventative maintenance program for all hospital equipment and systems.
  • Monitor all physical plant equipment and systems by performing daily routines.
  • Assist outside contractors in the repair/replacement of equipment as needed.
  • Commission and place installed equipment and systems into service.
  • Perform regular inspections and maintain records for life safety equipment under the Ontario Fire and Building Code.
  • Participate in the Occupational Health and Safety and WHMIS Program.

Requirements:

  • Current holder of a valid electrical, mechanical or other building trades license.
  • Proficiency in computer software applications: Microsoft Office.
  • Knowledge in the operations, maintenance and routine care of water and sewer, medical gases, boilers, power distribution system, building automation, heating ventilation, air conditioning, security, and life safety equipment.
  • Proficiency in performing work in various trade skills: drywalling, carpentry, electrical, HVAC, life safety, plumbing and mechanical.
