Job Title: Fish Processing Labourer

We are seeking a reliable and physically fit individual to join our team as a Fish Processing Labourer at St. Mary's Bay Fisheries Inc.

Job Summary:

This is a seasonal position that requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with varying temperatures and conditions. The successful candidate will be responsible for unloading fish and shellfish from fishing vessels, transporting them to the work area, and assisting with the processing and packaging of fish products.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Unload fish and shellfish from fishing vessels and transport them to the work area
  • Assist with the processing and packaging of fish products
  • Operate cleaning machines and equipment
  • Measure and dump ingredients into hoppers of mixing and grinding machines
  • Sort fish according to species, weight, and destination
  • Apply chemicals and operate cleaning machines
  • Transport items throughout the plant using powered equipment
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with varying temperatures and conditions
  • Physical ability to lift up to 45 kg (100 lbs)
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Reliability and flexibility
Working Conditions:

The successful candidate will be required to work in a noisy, odorous, and dusty environment with varying temperatures and conditions. The position requires the ability to stand for extended periods, bend, crouch, and kneel.
