We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Civil Engineer to join our team at Morson Canada. As a Senior Civil Engineer, you will be responsible for performing structural analysis, seismic qualification, and assessment, as well as designing and managing structural systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform structural analysis, seismic qualification, and assessment of structural systems
  • Design and manage structural systems, including steel, reinforced concrete, and masonry
  • Analyze structural systems and elements using software programs such as ANSYS, SAP2000, and STAAD Pro
  • Ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and regulations
  • Develop conceptual design, preliminary design, and detailed design
  • Prepare technical specification documents
  • Manage engineering deliverables and tasks to achieve project objectives within specified timelines and budgets
  • Provide technical instructions to junior staff or designers
  • Review and comment on work performed by others to ensure accuracy, completeness, and quality of technical information and design documentation
Requirements
  • Civil Engineering degree from an accredited university with a minimum of 12 years of structural analysis and design experience in steel and concrete structures in Nuclear Power Plants and/or industrial buildings
  • 3 to 5 years of site or field experience in Nuclear Power Plants and/or industrial buildings is an asset
  • Licensed in a professional engineering organization recognized in Canada, preferably registered as a Professional Engineer in the Province of Ontario
  • Deep and thorough understanding of structural engineering gained through a combination of design-office and site experience
  • Thorough knowledge of Canadian and International Codes and standards used in Civil/Structural engineering
  • Thorough knowledge of use of Analysis software commonly used in Civil/Structural engineering such as StaadPro, SAP2000, ETABS, SAFE, etc.
  • Must have experience with static, dynamic, and seismic analysis of structures and foundations
  • Adequate knowledge of established Nuclear QA guidelines, procedures, and practices is preferable
  • Adequate knowledge of applicable nuclear safety codes and regulations is an asset
  • Knowledge of modification process of Nuclear Power Plant; ECC process or similar is an asset
  • Must have good skills in time management and setting priorities
  • Must be able to demonstrate effective organizational skills
  • Demonstrated good interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a multidisciplinary team environment
  • Ability to manage to work effectively under tight schedules and budget
  • Eligible for Security Clearance through Public Works and Government Services Canada (PWGSC)
  • Travel to client site is required
