Job Title: Mechanical Building Inspector

About the Role

This is a challenging and rewarding position that requires a strong understanding of building codes, plumbing, and HVAC systems. As a Mechanical Building Inspector, you will be responsible for conducting inspections of new and existing buildings to ensure compliance with the Ontario Building Code and other relevant regulations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct inspections of buildings to ensure compliance with the Ontario Building Code and other relevant regulations
  • Review and inspect construction plans and documents to ensure compliance with building codes and regulations
  • Investigate complaints and enforce compliance with building codes and regulations
  • Collaborate with other departments and stakeholders to ensure effective enforcement of building codes and regulations
  • Provide technical support and guidance to builders, contractors, and other stakeholders
Requirements
  • Ontario Secondary School Diploma or equivalent
  • Additional post-secondary education in plumbing and/or sheet metal work
  • Provincial qualifications in plumbing and/or HVAC
  • Valid Class G driver's license
  • Experience in a computerized office environment
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills
