Overview

As a Cloud Security Developer at Royal Bank of Canada, you will play a key role in designing and developing innovative security solutions to support the organization's public cloud adoption. Your primary responsibility will be to design and develop preventative and detective controls, using modern automation, configuration as code, and TDD principles to bring reliability to the organization's cloud infrastructure.

Responsibilities
  • Design and develop policy-as-code preventative controls according to RBC's cloud control objectives.
  • Build automated reporting and monitoring solutions to provide security feedback to developers.
  • Develop automated scanning and alerting solutions for security coverage across environments and identify security gaps.
  • Collaborate with application developers to remediate security vulnerabilities for their applications and/or resources.
  • Work with security architects to identify security gaps and develop solutions to remediate them.
  • Develop integrations between vendors' offerings and RBC's infrastructure while adhering to RBC's compliance standards.
  • Brainstorm and collaborate with the team to build POCs and experiment with new security tools and technologies.

Requirements
  • A relevant degree in Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Strong experience with DevOps and Site Reliability Engineering.
  • Leadership skills to own and lead a project from start to finish.
  • Security mindset for building safe and secure products.
  • Experience working with major public cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like ARM, CFN, and Terraform.
  • Proficiency with Python, Bash, or any other scripting language.
  • Experience designing and building CI/CD systems with multiple components.
  • Strong experience working with container tools and platforms (Docker, K8s, OCP, etc.).
