About Us
As a leading innovator in underground mining equipment solutions, MacLean Engineering has been in operation for over 50 years. Our company remains privately owned and focused on the founder's original engineered design imperatives – safety, productivity, and enduring quality. We have four manufacturing facilities located in Canada and Mexico, where skilled tradespeople work together to produce high-quality components and equipment for the underground mining industry and other sectors.

Job Requirements:
The successful candidate will be responsible for the overall technical execution of their product line through leadership and management of their product teams. They will work closely with other departments to ensure the success of our end-products.

Key Responsibilities:
- Forecast, review, and assess new capital quotes/orders information for technical compliance, new options or combinations, long lead components, and other factors that may influence the scheduling of work to ensure objectives are met.

- Support prospects/customers with HazPak technical documentation during the regulatory and permitting process, often alongside an outside consultant.
- Monitor and report new design project status (% complete, schedule creep, risk level, and mitigation plan) and communicate this within the product team, internal customers, and external customers to confirm if all technical and schedule requirements are on track and direct any recovery plans as needed.
- Lead the design process for each unique installation by understanding customer requirements, finalizing equipment layouts, and obtaining customer approval prior to detail design. Maintain ongoing communication with the customer throughout the project to identify any changes, prevent scope creep, and ensure these changes are communicated with the team.
- Monitor the release of the Bill of Materials (BOM) such that new capital orders are entered into the manufacturing process on schedule and free of errors/omissions.
- Review final builds prior to delivery and oversee the installation and commissioning process through remote or on-site support. Assist installation contractors during technical discussions.
- Organize and execute continuous improvements to the product line to enhance technical support, documentation, and internal communication.
- Provide experienced mentorship to others where expertise in a particular area of technology exists, benefiting the success of the entire team.
- Continuously assess the skills and capacity of the product team and make recommendations to the department manager for any necessary changes or improvements.
- Participate in the procurement process to identify local suppliers and communicate technical requirements. Monitor component delivery and ensure the delivered product is technically accurate through review of drawings & testing documentation.
