We are seeking a highly motivated and organized Fitness Director to join our team at New Edge Alliance INC. The ideal candidate will have a passion for fitness and sports, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work with diverse groups of people.

Job Description

The Fitness Director will be responsible for leading and instructing athletic, fitness, or sports activities and techniques. This will include coordinating recreational, sport, and fitness events, planning and carrying out recreational, fitness, and sports activities, and maintaining and repairing sports equipment. Additionally, the Fitness Director will prepare reports, understand principles of group dynamics, and conduct therapeutic recreational or athletic activities.

Responsibilities
  • Demonstrate and instruct athletic, fitness, or sports activities and techniques
  • Assist with coordination of recreational, sport, and fitness events
  • Lead groups and individuals in recreational or leisure programs
  • Plan and carry out recreational, fitness, and sports activities
  • Maintain and repair sports equipment
  • Prepare reports
  • Understand principles of group dynamics
  • Leading/instructing individuals
  • Conduct therapeutic recreational or athletic activities
  • Assist clients/guests with special needs
  • Ensure health and safety regulations are followed
  • Assemble supplies, sports, and game equipment
  • Monitor recreational, sports, or fitness activities to ensure safety and provide emergency or first aid assistance when required
Requirements

To be successful as a Fitness Director, you should have:

  • College, CEGEP, or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years
  • 2 years to less than 3 years of experience in a related field
  • A permanent position with a salary range of $45,000 - $60,000 per year, working 40 hours per week, and speaking English as your primary language
