This is an entry-level position that involves working under supervision in the Fire Assay area and is responsible for maintaining some of the tools and instruments being used in the operation./ppbKey Responsibilities:/b/pulliWork in a safe and efficient manner, following all health and safety protocols./liliLiaise with the supervisor on work order priorities./liliSet up fusion batches./liliSort and clean pots; sort and dry cupels./liliPerform Fire Assay Techniques, such as fluxing, fusing, de-slagging, and cupelling of samples according to standard operating procedures./liliMaintain Quality Control and production log./liliProperly dispose of crucibles, cupels, and fire assay lead waste residues./liliConduct QC inspections of samples, crucibles, buttons, and beads./liliFollow all quality protocols and report discrepancies to the supervisor./liliMay be asked to work in other areas of the geochemistry laboratory sections when required./liliCalibrate and set up equipment prior to analysis./li/ulpbRequirements:/b/pulliMinimum High School Diploma Required./liliGeneral Labourer experience an asset./liliGood hand-eye coordination and the ability to stand for long periods./liliIntermediate computer skills./liliAbility to work in a positive manner in a fast-paced environment./liliAbility to lift up to 25 pounds on a consistent basis and perform work in a hot and dusty environment./liliMust be able to read, understand, and follow work instructions in a safe, accurate, and timely manner./liliMust be able to wear a respirator and other PPE properly./liliReliable transportation is required./liliMust be flexible to work day shifts on a 4 days on, 4 days off rotation./li/ul
