Automotive Service Technician Job Description

At Precision Auto Works, we are seeking an experienced Automotive Service Technician to join our team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for performing vehicle inspections, basic maintenance, and minor repairs.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Conduct thorough vehicle inspections to identify potential issues and recommend necessary repairs.
  2. Perform routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, lubrication work, and tune-ups.
  3. Diagnose and repair complex automotive systems, including fuel systems, brakes, steering and suspension, engine and drive train, emission control and exhaust, cooling and climate control, and electrical and electronic systems.
  4. Communicate effectively with Service Advisors to ensure timely completion of repairs and to inform customers of additional work required.
  5. Work collaboratively with certified technicians to deliver high-quality vehicle service and maintenance.
  6. Ensure vehicles are properly stored and retrieved, and that all necessary safety precautions are taken.

Requirements:

  1. High school diploma or equivalent required; relevant training or experience preferred.
  2. Minimum 3 years of experience as an Automotive Service Technician or completion of a 4th year Automotive Service Technician apprenticeship.
