We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Underground Construction Manager to join our team in Saskatoon, SK. As a key member of our Prairie Division, you will be responsible for planning and managing underground mining-related projects, providing technical and operational direction to project superintendents and engineers, and ensuring compliance with client and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement construction plans to ensure project completion on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
  • Collaborate with the estimating team to develop construction estimates and proposals.
  • Ensure strict adherence to safety programs and policies, and identify opportunities for process improvements and cost-saving initiatives.
  • Manage contractual agreements, change orders, and claims to mitigate project risks and ensure compliance with contractual obligations.
  • Supervise personnel, address staff development requirements, and participate in the recruitment and selection of qualified employees.

Requirements:

  • 12-15+ years of underground mine and surface-related construction experience as a Construction or Operations Manager or similar direct supervisory role.
  • Engineering degree, technical diploma, journeyman trade certificate, or equivalent work experience.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills in building a strong safety culture.
  • Solid understanding of current construction practices and previous mine construction experience is an asset.
  • Experience in civil/mechanical/electrical/structural construction.
  • Experience developing construction estimates and working with the proposal team developing construction methodologies as part of bid submissions.
  • Experience working with EPCM oversight.
  • Proven ability to guide safe work practices in a high-pressure environment while maintaining project safety, quality, schedule, and budget.
