Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Facilities Technical Lead to join our team at Magna. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for assessing resource requirements, designing and optimizing critical operational systems, and overseeing the maintenance of infrastructure and equipment for 2 plants.

Key Responsibilities

  • Gather and analyze data, blueprints, and reports to determine facility and equipment specifications
  • Analyze project costs and prepare budgets to ensure operational efficiency
  • Evaluate operational systems and facility infrastructure to identify areas for improvement
  • Develop processing plans and optimize resource allocation to meet business needs
  • Plan and coordinate infrastructure and equipment maintenance schedules and activities
  • Coordinate and oversee contractors performing maintenance activities to ensure compliance with regulations and standards
  • Prepare reports and compliance documentation to support business decisions
  • Design and oversee the implementation of facility expansion, layout, and quality controls to meet business objectives
  • Complete preventative maintenance, repairs, modifications, and installations as required to ensure facility operations
  • Understand, maintain, and utilize a CMMS work order system to follow up on projects and day-to-day duties
  • Lead by example and support facilities team in daily activities to ensure adherence to Standard Work
  • Assist and make recommendations for job planning to ensure quality and efficiency
  • Assist in training as required to support team development
  • Co-Chair the Energy Team to drive energy efficiency initiatives
  • Support all facilities-related issues after hours and coordinate with the Facilities Manager as needed
  • Take ownership of weekend schedule in conjunction with Manager (Able to work extended or flexible hours as required)
  • Work within the guidelines of the Deco Employee Handbook

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical, electrical, or industrial engineering
  • At least 5 years of experience as facilities engineer or in a similar role
  • Advanced skills with ACAD and Visio, and proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Knowledge of the building process and construction principles
  • Knowledge of relevant regulations and building codes
