Job Title: Tile Setter
Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled Tile Setter to join our team at GRW Contracting Ltd. As a Tile Setter, you will be responsible for preparing, measuring, and marking surfaces to be covered with tile, mixing and applying adhesives, and setting tiles in place.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare, measure, and mark surfaces to be covered with tile.
- Mix and apply adhesives to surfaces.
- Set tiles in place and apply pressure to affix them to the base.
- Align and straighten tiles.
- Cut and fit tiles around obstacles and openings using hand and power cutting tools.
- Pack grout into joints between tiles and remove excess grout.
- Remove and replace cracked or damaged tiles.
- Lay and set mosaic tiles to create decorative wall, mural, and floor designs.
- Install tile strips.
Requirements:
- Tilesetter Trade Certification.
- First Aid Certificate.
- CPR Certificate.
- Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate.
- Basic security clearance.
- Valid driver's licence.
- Own transportation.
- Own vehicle.
Work Environment: The work environment is physically demanding, with handling of heavy loads, bending, crouching, and kneeling. The ability to distinguish between colours and attention to detail are essential skills for this role.
