Job Summary

TRIO - Translational Research in Oncology is seeking a highly skilled Procurement/Clinical Outsourcing Manager to join our Finance team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing clinical outsourcing activities, ensuring compliance with our standard operating procedures, and providing oversight of TPO budgets.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to work with a global academic clinical research organization dedicated to advancing translational cancer research in the clinical trial setting. The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Design and Maintenance of Clinical Outsourcing SOPs/Procedures: Support the development and maintenance of Clinical Outsourcing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)/Procedures, activity trackers, tools (budget templates, budget review tools, etc.).
  • TPO Budget Oversight: Provide oversight of TPO budgets, including monthly review of TPO activities, budget forecasts, budget reconciliation, and negotiation of change orders.
  • Contract Compliance: Ensure compliance with TRIO standard operating procedures (SOPs) pertaining to contracts and budgets associated with the services provided by Third Parties Organizations (TPOs).
  • Contract Review and Negotiation: Be knowledgeable of contract terms and conduct ongoing monthly review of the TPO activities to determine compliance to the contract and budget specifications.
  • Budget Amendments: Participate in negotiation of change orders and perform budget amendments as required or as directed by the Global Coordinator.
  • Billing and Compliance: Review the billing information for compliance and accuracy prior to submitting to the finance department for processing.
  • TPO Engagement: Negotiate Master Service Agreement (MSA) and create standard budget grids with the TPO's with direction from the supervisor.
  • Quality Control: Perform quality control on TPO file and work with COU Specialist to resolve issues or discrepancies and reach out to parties involved for additional information when necessary.
  • TPO Selection and Engagement: Participate in the identification, selection, and engagement of TPO's for ongoing and future business.
  • Liaison with TPO's and Other Departments: Liaise with the TPO's and other departments to ensure that the above-mentioned tasks are completed in accordance with the agreed timelines and quality standards.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree (Accounting, Business, Commerce, or Life Sciences) is preferred but will consider combinations of education and experience.
  • Experience: Previous experience working with contracts and the ability to negotiate contracts with TPO's on behalf of TRIO.
  • Budgeting Knowledge: Knowledge of budgeting process is preferred, which would include working with budget templates and budget review tools.
  • Technical Skills: Highly proficient in MS Excel.
  • Language Skills: French speaking would be considered an asset.
