About This Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Engineering Director to lead our engineering and design activities for a major capital project. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental requirements, managing engineering service providers, and delivering high-quality engineering outputs aligned with project objectives.

This is an exciting opportunity to work on a complex project that involves upgrading processes and equipment in the electrode area for larger anode sizes. You will have the chance to collaborate with stakeholders, asset owners, and team members to ensure alignment of engineering activities with project objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead HSE efforts to ensure a zero-harm approach during all phases of the project, including engineering activities.
  • Identify safety hazards and implement mitigation measures.
  • Evaluate environmental impacts of designs and construction activities.
  • Ensure compliance with HSE regulations, codes, and standards.
  • Establish and enforce engineering quality assurance and quality control practices.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or related discipline).
  • Registered Engineering Professional (e.g., P.Eng.) is preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience in engineering management, preferably in capital projects or industrial environments.
  • Experience with aluminum production, including electrode area processes and equipment.
  • Bilingual French/English required.
  • Strong knowledge of federal and provincial HSE regulations and engineering standards.
