About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Food Service Associate to join our team at Fresh Slice Pizza. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, maintaining a clean and safe work environment, and supporting the overall success of our restaurant.

Key Responsibilities
  • Cleanliness and Sanitation: Clean and sanitize items such as dishwasher mats, carts, and waste disposal units to maintain a clean and safe work environment.
  • Dishroom Operations: Operate dishwashers to wash dishes, glassware, and flatware, and ensure that all dishes are properly cleaned and stored.
  • Customer Service: Serve customers at counters or buffet tables, take orders, and process payments in a friendly and efficient manner.
  • Supply Management: Replenish condiments and other supplies at tables and serving areas to ensure that customers have a positive dining experience.
  • Take-out and Packaging: Package take-out food and ensure that all orders are accurately prepared and presented to customers.
Support for Newcomers and Refugees

We are committed to supporting newcomers and refugees in our community. As a Food Service Associate, you will have the opportunity to participate in our program and support the settlement needs of newcomers and refugees.

  • Settlement Support: Assist with immediate settlement needs of newcomers and refugees, such as housing, transportation, and storage.
  • Social and Labour Market Integration: Support the social and labour market integration of newcomers and refugees by facilitating access to community resources, language training, and skills training.
Support for Youth

We are committed to supporting youth employment in our community. As a Food Service Associate, you will have the opportunity to participate in our program and support the employment needs of youth.

  • Youth Employment: Participate in a government or community program or initiative that supports youth employment.
  • On-the-job Training: Offer on-the-job training tailored to youth to support their employment and career development.
Support for Indigenous People

We are committed to supporting Indigenous people in our community. As a Food Service Associate, you will have the opportunity to participate in our program and support the employment needs of Indigenous people.

  • Cultural Competency Training: Provide cultural competency training and awareness training to all employees to create a welcoming work environment for Indigenous workers.
  • Elder Support: Facilitate access to Elders who can offer support and guidance to Indigenous workers.

Work Environment: Our restaurant is a fast-paced and dynamic work environment that requires a high level of energy and enthusiasm. As a Food Service Associate, you will work in a team environment to provide exceptional customer service and support the overall success of our restaurant.

Language: English is the primary language spoken in our restaurant, and we require all employees to be fluent in English.

Hours: We offer a variety of shifts to accommodate different schedules, including 30-36 hours per week.
