Job Opportunity
The Lac La Ronge Indian Band's Education Department is seeking a qualified candidate to fill the position of Post-Secondary Education Counsellor.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide academic counselling and support services to Post-Secondary students.
- Monitor student academic activity and provide progress reports.
- Refer students to personal counselling and support services as needed.
- Ensure students are aware of and have access to Indigenous resources.
- Conduct student visits and provide orientation and information seminars.
- Maintain student tracking sheets and collect statistical data.
- Collect and distribute information regarding Post-Secondary student support programs and training opportunities.
- Refer Band Members to Post-Secondary institutions and assist with necessary documentation.
- Maintain liaison with educational institutions and First Nations organizations.
Requirements:
- Minimum university diploma or equivalent work experience.
- Experience in counselling Post-Secondary students.
- Education in administration, management, finance, or bookkeeping.
- Demonstrated communication and organizational skills.
- Valid Driver's License and reliable vehicle.
- Satisfactory Criminal Record Check and Vulnerable Sector Check.
