About the Role:
This is a facility-based position where you will provide outpatient services to clients in the Ponoka area. You will be supported by the Allied Health Area Manager and Physiotherapy Professional Practice Lead, with opportunities to connect with professionals in surrounding areas. You will provide clinical direction to a Therapy Assistant and may, on occasion, be offered the opportunity to provide clinical placements for Physiotherapy or Therapy Assistant students.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide therapeutic interventions to enable clients to achieve optimum physical function and independence in development, disease, disability, chronic conditions, illness, and functional decline.
- Provide intervention (prevention, triage, screening, assessment, diagnosis, goal setting, treatment, management, education, consultation, fostering resourcefulness, case management, referral, and transition support) to individuals, groups, populations, and communities.
- Collaborate with patients and families in determining, implementing, and evaluating appropriate rehabilitation strategies.
- Participate in interprofessional teams to build awareness, enrich supports, and engage in quality improvement.
- Contribute to quality improvement and professional community; participates in peer mentoring; and supervises students.
- May provide clinical supervision to Therapy Assistants, Therapy Aides, and Provisional Physiotherapists.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Physiotherapy from an accredited university program.
- Current registration with the College of Physiotherapists of Alberta.
Additional Required Qualifications:
- Basic Cardiac Life Support – Health Care Provider certification from Heart & Stroke Foundation.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Current AADL Authorizer preferred.
