About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Software Development Expert to join our team at AtkinsRéalis. As an I&C Engineering Specialist, you will be responsible for the design, implementation, and maintenance of software systems, as well as the selection and acquisition of suitable hardware and pre-developed commercial software.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with company procedures and policies.
  2. Timely execution of the assigned scope in the assigned software project capacities.
  3. Performing the suitability assessment (and qualification where needed) of system hardware and pre-developed software components.
  4. Support designing, installation and testing of an assigned product test environment.
  5. Integrating software and hardware components and preparing software engineering documents such as test procedures, test reports, operation manuals etc.
  6. Site support and software maintenance services include shift work (day shift and night shift work).
  7. Implementing and maintaining key project support systems (i.e., configuration management, document management and change control systems) for the tooling department.
  8. Supporting the selection and qualification of Control Systems hardware by the tooling group.
  9. Assist on preparing validation tests and/or review the results of the validation testing.
  10. Responsible for change control - Using configuration management system provided by his/her department to maintain software files, release and documentation. Preparing and maintaining work plans for the control software change activities.
  11. Support OPEX Review - Assembling OPEX and assessing what changes should be incorporated in the future designs of Tooling and Equipment.
  12. Report and suggest resolution to any potential impacts to technical quality identified by the various tool manufacturers and vendors.
  13. Ensure all work activities are performed safely, in collaboration with the Project Safety Manager.

Requirements:

  1. Engineering degree (Electrical, Control, Software) from an accredited university, Minimum 4 years relevant work experience.
  2. Siemens PLC programming experience – Step 7, S7-SCL, S7-GRAPH, S7-Starter, SIMATIC NET, WinCC Flexible and S7 Distributed Safety.
  3. Knowledge and hands-on experience on Siemens TIA V18 or higher.
  4. Knowledge of WinCC Unified.
  5. Siemens SCADA programming experience – WinCC Classic.
  6. Siemens PROFIBUS and PROFINET.
  7. PELCO experience (Endura Certified System Technician an asset).
  8. Engineering drawings interpretation.
  9. Engineering Change Control knowledge.
  10. Analytical ability and effective decision making.
  11. Excellent organizational skills.
  12. Situational awareness and effective problem-solving skills.
  13. Inter-personal communication skills.
  14. Computer proficiency – Microsoft Office – Word, Excel, Access, Visio, PowerPoint, Outlook.
  15. Written/oral communication skills.

Security Clearance (from Candu Energy and OPG) must be obtained and maintained as a condition of employment.
