Job Summary

At Strike Group, we are seeking a highly skilled 4th year apprentice pipefitter to join our team. As an apprentice pipefitter, you will possess the full range of knowledge required to lay out, assemble, install, and maintain pipe systems, pipe supports, and related hydraulic and pneumatic equipment for various industrial systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret red-line construction drawings and blueprints (Isometrics, P&IDs, etc.)
  • Assist journeyperson pipefitters with the installation of equipment, pipe, and structural steel on site
  • Assemble piping and valves in module and compressor packages
  • Prepare pipe and fittings for tacking, hoisting, and rigging
  • Hydrotest, assemble, and install pipe spools in the fabrication facility
  • Measure, cut, and thread pipe to the required shape
  • Install supports, valves, piping, and control systems
  • Remove and replace worn components and reactivate systems

Requirements

  • Must be a registered 4th year apprentice with the appropriate provincial or federal authority
  • Must have or be willing to obtain valid H2S Alive and CSTS 2020 or PST tickets
  • Must be able to pass pre-employment drug & alcohol testing
  • Able to lift 50 pounds
  • Comfortable working outdoors

Working Conditions

The site is located at the Cenovus Foster Creek facility on the Cold Lake Air Weapons Range. The shift is 8 on/6 off, with 12 hour days and an 8 hour day on the final shift. A $300/shift travel allowance is provided, along with camp accommodations.
