Financial Analyst Job Description

At TechInsights, we're seeking a highly skilled Financial Analyst to join our team in Ottawa. As a key member of our Financial Planning and Analysis team, you'll play a critical role in producing accurate and timely financial reports, forecasts, and analyses that inform business decisions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and present monthly financial reports, including management accounts and external reporting
  • Perform in-depth analysis to support the month-end close process and ensure forecast accuracy
  • Collaborate with department budget owners to prepare forecast planning revisions and ensure planning changes are captured in systems
  • Liaise with global office contacts to maintain and update financial statement forecasting elements
  • Develop and maintain financial models, including variance analysis and forecasting
  • Participate in the design and development of planning systems and use of various assumptions-based forecasting
  • Assist in the preparation of source files used in reporting results of finalized forecast updates
  • Perform maintenance, calculations, and recording of monthly internally developed capitalized costs
  • Prepare weekly revenue forecasts
Requirements:
  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in Business or Accounting
  • Previous experience in a similar role, preferably in a financial planning and analysis function
  • Proficient in MS Office, including solid Excel skills
  • Experience using NetSuite and/or Workday Adaptive Planning software an asset
  • Ability to work with and summarize large data sets in Excel
  • Attention to detail and high degree of accuracy
  • Ability to work well under pressure and meet set deadlines
  • Excellent organizational, time management, and prioritizing skills
  • Professional written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong problem-solving skills
