Your Opportunity:

This is an exciting opportunity for a Dietitian I to join the interprofessional Pediatric Home Nutrition Support Program team at the Stollery Children's Hospital at the University of Alberta hospital on a temporary full-time basis. As a Dietitian I, you will report directly to the Nutrition Services Manager for Child Health in Edmonton Zone.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide direct nutrition care for infants and children with feeding tubes, including consultation and care planning for nutrition support via enteral means, oral supplementation, and diet progressions.
  • Optimize growth and development through evidence-informed nutrition care.
  • Participate in zone and/or provincial NS committees and/or research projects to meet Provincial NS Child Health Strategy & Standards targets.
About the Role:

As a Dietitian I, you will provide nutrition expertise to patients in various AHS facilities and community settings to achieve nutrition and health outcomes. You will be responsible for nutrition assessment, development, implementation, and evaluation of nutrition care plans. You will also plan and provide public health nutrition services and education programs to promote healthy living and disease prevention for clients/groups in facilities or community settings.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor of Science with a major in Foods and Nutrition.
  • Completion of an internship program or practicum training program accredited by the Dietitians of Canada.
  • Active or eligible for registration with the College of Dietitians of Alberta (CDA).
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Current knowledge and experience with pediatric patients that require or have feeding tubes.
  • Current knowledge of and experience with nutrition and feeding high-risk infants and children.
