Morrison Hershfield's Transportation Division provides comprehensive services for roadway, highway, transit/rail, bridge, and related projects. We are currently seeking a skilled Junior Inspector to join our transportation team and conduct field work. The Junior Inspector will play a key role in the delivery of assignments primarily for public sector clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conducts site inspections to ensure conformance with project requirements
  • Performs site surveys, gathering relevant information, equipment, and materials
  • Searches for physical survey evidence and determines its sufficiency
  • Obtains additional survey evidence as necessary and determines when sufficient information has been obtained
  • Analyzes situations or data using standard procedures and practices
  • Assists in compiling field data in report form for review by project designers

Requirements:

  • A post-secondary diploma or degree in Civil Engineering or Civil Engineering Technology/Technician or equivalent
  • Designation as a Road Construction Junior Inspector (RCJI) Technology/Technician is an asset
  • Previous engineering/construction experience is an asset
  • Prior experience working on MTO projects or municipal infrastructure projects
  • Registration as a Technician or Technologist with O.A.C.E.T.T. or Professional Engineer or Engineer-in-Training with PEO
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work well in a team environment
  • Able to work on weekends, nights, shift work, and additional hours as required
  • Proficiency with MS Office
  • A valid Ontario driver's license and access to a vehicle
  • Able to travel and work in the Greater Toronto and surrounding area
