About the Role

Pamal Trucking is seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic to join our team. As a Diesel Mechanic, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing our fleet of heavy trucks.

Key Responsibilities
  • Instruct and mentor apprentices in the art of diesel mechanics
  • Troubleshoot and inspect equipment to detect faults and malfunctions
  • Diagnose issues using computerized testing equipment and determine the extent of repair required
  • Order parts and manage inventory to ensure efficient maintenance
  • Adjust and repair equipment, replacing defective parts as needed
  • Keep accurate maintenance records and documentation
  • Test repaired equipment to ensure it meets manufacturers' specifications
  • Clean, lubricate, and perform routine maintenance tasks
  • Perform repair work on heavy trucks, including emission control systems
Work Environment and Physical Demands
  • Work in a physically demanding environment, requiring hand-eye coordination and the ability to handle heavy loads
  • Overtime may be required to meet maintenance schedules
Requirements
  • Other trades certificate or diploma
  • 3-5 years of experience in diesel mechanics
  • Dependability, judgement, and reliability
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • English language proficiency
