Job Description:
- The successful candidate will be responsible for operating a tractor-trailer, ensuring timely delivery of goods, and maintaining a safe and secure driving environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Route Planning: Plan or adjust routes based on changing conditions, using computer equipment, GPS devices, or other navigation tools to minimize fuel consumption and carbon emissions.
- Vehicle Maintenance: Oversee the condition of the vehicle, inspecting tires, lights, brakes, cold storage, and other equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Emergency Repairs: Perform emergency roadside repairs to get the vehicle back on the road as quickly as possible.
- Inspections: Conduct pre-trip, en route, and post-trip inspections to maintain a safe and secure driving environment.
- Cargo Management: Record cargo information, hours of service, distance traveled, and fuel consumption to ensure efficient operations.
- Tarping and Cargo Security: Ensure the safety and security of cargo by properly tarping it and maintaining a clean and organized vehicle.
Requirements:
- Licenses and Certifications: Possess an AZ class license and a valid passport.
- Physical Demands: The job requires physical stamina, with physically demanding tasks, repetitive motions, and extended periods of sitting.
- Judgement and Patience: Demonstrated judgement and patience in high-pressure situations are essential for this role.
- Work Term and Hours: This is a permanent position with 30-40 hours of work per week.
- Language: English is the primary language spoken in this workplace.
Compensation:
We offer a competitive salary of $45,000 - $60,000 per year, depending on experience, plus additional benefits and opportunities for growth within our organization.
